Or, maybe the Sorcerer will show up and put the Dark One in his place by taking away his magic? The Hat could mean several possible outcomes, and in the meantime, its presence provides a chance for them to work in references that make Disney fans happy. It's quite powerful, and since it can take away magic, signs point towards the citizens of Storybrooke having to steal it away from Rumplestiltskin to use it on the Snow Queen. The design is magical, and the CGI works. Once Upon a Time: Elizabeth Lail on Playing Frozen's AnnaSpeaking of the Hat, kudos to the crew who developed the look for it. It's not a bad turn for the plot, but Belle needs to take notice eventually (sooner would be better) and confront her husband. Some of his behavior comes from the fact that he's the Dark One, but the discovery of the Sorcerer's Hat seems to be pushing him backwards and into becoming his old self. His love for Belle isn't making him a better person, and it's like he's only nice when it comes to her and Henry - he seemed genuinely happy when Henry asked him about working at the shop (Robert Carlyle manages to be crazy expressive with his eyes). Rumplestiltskin has gone in a direction I didn't expect this season. Her superpower once again proved to be useless as she didn't detect lies from the Hook or the Knave. How did that not raise a red flag? Emma knows Rumple and that he doesn't make deals for the sake of being nice.

Colin O'Donoghue's role on the series has grown over time, but Hook's current dilemma gives him an opportunity to go far beyond the rakish character we know and he's already handling it wonderfully.ДЄnd an important question: now that he has his hook back, will he revert to full pirate attire or keep rocking the metro pirate look?Д¬olin O'Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison in Once Upon a TimeOne point that didn't add up with the whole hand business: Hook mentioned he got his hand from the Dark One and later said it didn't work out. The best outcome would be Hook telling Emma the truth immediately вЂ“ he's taken that route before вЂ“ but maybe he's worried he's gone too far. Regardless of Rumplestiltskin's motivation, the deal between him and Hook makes for an intriguing development. Like he wanted Hook to fail in the ways that he did. Love wasn't enough for Rumple to leave the darkness behind, and though he said he lied to Hook to show Hook his inner darkness was still there, I think he also wanted to see someone in the same shoes. It's not a surprise that he wanted his hand back, and the trick from Rumple was a fine way to explore the question of whether Hook has really changed. The writers made it more than mush and turned it into character development for Hook. It felt like a reward for watching the duo hedge back and forth for a season. Once Upon a Time: Could Frozen's Characters Continue?Slight gushing out of the way, it was necessary for Emma and Hook to have a date like that both for them and for viewers. And hey, they even figured out a way to make the Lady and the Tramp pasta scene work. The episode was packed with endearing moments from Mary Margaret snapping a Polaroid of Emma in her dress to Elsa and Charming bonding over being protective to Emma's вЂњCaptain HandвЂќ joke вЂ“ it was as sweet as can be but in a human, not overly saccharine fairy tale way. Emma and Hook's date offered plenty of opportunities for the writers and actors to lay on the charm, and it worked. Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.
